Looks great but just wondering how it feels compared to more common keycap materials i.e. abs or pbt?

This keycaps feel very different from PBT. They are very smooth and have that bit of a sticky feeling. Also they are fingerprint magnet.

I couldn’t use them because of the sticky thing, especially in hot weather, would drive me nuts

Same. From a usability standpoint, I'd almost want something similar to the body of the V2. They'd also need to have a durable enough material/finish to not wear out.

I can't help but wonder if using something like this on these keycaps would work. From an aesthetics standpoint, however, I think this build looks absolutely beautiful.

Love the look but why is the keyboard in katakana? Japanese keyboards are in hiragana

To be fair, its not like hiragana sublegends have any actual use either. Its really just for aesthetics as well (From a Kuro/Shiro owner btw)

Ah sorry just weird for me since I speak Japanese and new to this sub so wasn't sure if it was a brand specific thing for aesthetics or if it was a Japanese brand with some other meaning/use.

Its all good! I actually thought they had a practical use myself when I first got them. Glad to see more people getting into keebs.

:) How's the feel on them? I aboslutely love lucite/transluscent look and typically do a clear but my set up is all black so looking into something like this!

Edit also love the mousepad or mat? is that SLS?

I’m not OP, but they said the keycaps are pretty smooth and sticky

How do the caps feel in actual use? I'm not sure I could get used to the smoothness of the tops as I prefer textured tops.

eliminatedalljuice OP t1_iu90b3m wrote

For the first few hours i like them, but definitely need to test drive more. In the spectrum (textured - smooth) they are on opposite sides.

Wonder if the legends will rub off over time? Just hot some Keysterine caps off of Drop and the legends on the L-Shift, Caps, W, S, A, and D are fading after a few months. And I might game (on average since I got the caps) an hour a day.

I know it is translucent and all that, but this level of shine is how I want my gmk to be in 5 years
