Really? It was a thrift shop purchase purely because I wanted to look at oscilloscope music

Its an oscilloscope. You can get old, analog ones like that for like £50.

A raspberry pi4 but running in console mode

My bad, I happen to recall they were very expensive.

An old oscilloscope. It's used to look at electricity. The pic is from a still of a video I was making: https://youtu.be/7Mx4uqGn-xY

Checking email, fiddling with my calendar, very light github stuff, a bit of youtube. I am a simple creature.

Thanks, that's appreciated

it's just a funny way to describe what the oscillograph does

The old super-8 editor is really cool! Do the front-button and rotary-knobs do anything? Could perhaps turn on/off, scroll and adjust volume. Could maybe use https://github.com/omriharel/deej to get that going?
edwardianpug OP t1_itvu8yb wrote
The switch controls the power, but the dial does nothing at the moment.... linking it to a rotary encoder while keeping it linked to the original mechanism would be a good idea

okay okay okay... I'm officially OLD

What an awesome combo!

So you’re using it like a visualizer?
edwardianpug OP t1_ityhfm4 wrote
Pretty much.... some old amplifiers had vector-scopes on them but oscilloscopes are even better, and some talented people even made music specifically chosen to look good on an oscilloscope. I think I've put a link to the video somewhere in this thread...

Awesome, I found it. Thanks.
