Case is printed in PLA from files provided by keeb.io.

Didn't realize keeb.io I had print files, I got to check that out

It was linked in their build instructions, not in the store page itself.

That’s awesome but how did you get the left row keys? Is it a part of the left pcb or a separate pcb?

1

yellowbluesky t1_ixs6t0b wrote

It's part of the left PCB, and can be snapped off if you don't want it

Many-Horror t1_ixq6kh0 wrote

Woah it is broken :)))

PityUpvote OP t1_ixq6ttl wrote

If you look closely, you'll see it's held together by a flimsy piece of wire!

Many-Horror t1_ixqp91f wrote

I also like the fact that the 2 halves have different color. A very nice touch!

I want to build 1 like this but no hotswap :/

PityUpvote OP t1_ixqteej wrote

The quefrency rev.3 isn't hotswap and is still available.

Where you buy it? Price? Ty

Keyboard here

I got the keycaps from aliexpress and the switches from a local retailer.

Total cost without the printed components was €250-ish.

Quefrency gang rise up.

I have a rev 4 with Glorious Pamda switches and Drop Skiidata keycaps

pabloescobyte t1_ixq8abf wrote

I love the different colored halves! keeb.io always has a nice selection of unique boards. 100X better than a Ducky.

How long did it take you to build?

1

PityUpvote OP t1_ixq96zr wrote

Took three-ish hours, would have been less if I had checked the stabilizers were correct before I added the keycaps.

2

pabloescobyte t1_ixrhsxx wrote

Oh haha not to worry, that happens to the best of us!

How are you getting along with your new layout?

PityUpvote OP t1_ixrsmg9 wrote

Every time I miss something I update my qmk config and flash again!

I think your keyboard might be broken.

I love it! I wanted something like the SP-111 but it was too large, now I found the perfect size!

Ooh, I love that look! The pink and blue is a great combo!

My camera sucks, it's actually green!

Izax_G t1_ixtsda5 wrote

oh nw, it actually looks a bit more like a mint green now that I look at it lol

I’m not usually one for split keebs, but the colours are nice! Gmk 8008 would fit perfectly on that!

One question, Why?

Is that a trans keeb???

PityUpvote OP t1_ixrsq89 wrote

No, my camera isn't great, but it's green, not blue. Trans rights though ✊

I don't get staggered split at all. Reaching B or Q on your left hand would strain the fingers. In fact, even the curl downwards and slightly to the side on any finger is terrible unless you angle your hands so even when split to shoulder length, the keyboard needs to be angled weirdly.

MarvellousScarlet t1_ixqmgbx wrote

Hi, I personally have a staggered split as my first custom keyboard that my bf got me and the appeal at the time was more desk/mouse space, being able to configure a profile for gaming that essentially just lets you use all of the inputs you need on a 30-40% however also being able to just have a regular 60-80% keyboard that you can put back together at anytime for anything other than just gaming.

There's alot more practical concepts for this but I feel as if this retains the fundamental design of a keyboard and its simplicity.

I don't have too weird of an angle when using it whilst gaming however-so I still own a wrist rest for such... which helps tremendously when sitting at an unsuitable height for when I'm not at home.

if it's any consolation; I prefer it to my actual 40% or a full-size as of any matter. idk if this is the answer you was looking for lol but this is just my experience with a split staggered.

asdfopu t1_ixqo79l wrote

That’s a fair answer. I was just thinking if you’re going split for ergo reasons you should improve finger positioning as well so they go straight up and down from home row without any horizontal stagger. Basically if you keep your hands shoulder length apart, you’re forced to angle the keyboard otherwise. I’m also not advocating for smaller keyboards, just ortholinear ones like the moonlander.

1

MarvellousScarlet t1_ixqqtlj wrote

That's also fair, there's definitely more practical design concepts for ergo boards however personal preference and appearance are MASSIVE things in most hobbies, I personally think staggered splits look gorgeous and boards similar to the moonlander are quite ugly in appearance relatively but ultimately can appreciate any design of a custom-made keyboard. Angling isn't an issue for me but that can probably factor down to a many multitude of reasons due to height/desk height/distance

fruxzak t1_ixsuzub wrote

What's not to get?

I like the regular staggered layout but I have broad shoulders. Perfect for me :)

2

asdfopu t1_ixsv33d wrote

Do you keep your hands shoulder length apart? How much do you angle both sides?

0

fruxzak t1_ixsv8rf wrote

Yeah I do. I have a trackpad in the middle and keep the halves at almost shoulder width.

2

PityUpvote OP t1_ixqt4ne wrote

I love it so far, row stagger helps with speed typing since it's what I'm familiar with.

1

RiboNucleic85 t1_ixs8o07 wrote

Well its to preserve staggering typically found on kbs, however talking about this has inspired an idea to get somewhere between staggered and straight you could extend the T and N keys just a little and then you could reshape the edge of the keys to create a nice convex curve on the inside of the right half of the kb and a matching concave curve on the inside of the left half
