Not familiar with how keyboard PCBs work entirely, but how does that work as a macropad without needing wires to bridge some of the traces to complete the circuit?

The keyboard is just a matrix of rows and columns. So I just lopped off a bunch of each making the matrix smaller but still operational.

Wanted to make a macro pad as a Christmas present.. didn't have any controllers, but I do have a few spare PCBs for a 75 key ortho I made.
