Looks great! P.S. You can remove the Royal Kludge logo with a regular rubber (eraser), it just takes a bit of work but it'll come off without affecting the paint finish at all. Worth it if you'd prefer a logo-less look

Beautiful 😍 you have more confidence than I can ever lol I’d be so paranoid I’d get it dirty 🥹

Usually I buy black peripherals but I wanted a change.I have it for like 2 weeks, it is still clean, but I have to blow the dust once per week. Compared with the black version, I think, the rgb lighting looks better.

I have the same keyboard, nice choice! the outermost frame can pop off with light pressure (intentionally) - I just put it on backwards so the logo faces away from me instead of trying to figure out removing it. it works well enough for me, I usually forget it’s there!

Looks dope, mine is on the way. My only concern is white color, I wonder If It will get dirty very fast compared to black keyboards.

Consider popping off the keycaps (or maybe even completely disassembling it) to clean the insides, too.

I dust my keyboard all the time, but I still get a lot of stuff between the keys and under the switch plate. Hence me disassembling it every month to clean it completely - carefully wash the keycaps and go in with a soft brush, dump everything on the table and vacuum it away.

I use a camera cleaning kit, works fantastic for all my electronics.

I have the rk71 and honestly I am suspicious that it may already be pre-lubed, just feels so smooth.

I also really like the keycaps.

I probably wouldn't do it until after the return period is up (assuming you ordered from Amazon. I don't think RK really have any kind of warranty after that).

I've purchased two RK keyboards—the first one had a dead switch within a month and it had soldered switches. The second one was completely dead on arrival.

Got the black one myself a few weeks ago. First mechanical for me as well. I'm liking it!

Blue switches.

Got some o rings and tape mod. Was nice to see foam already inside. (earlier versions shipped without it I believe)

PS. Flip the cover to remove logo in 2 seconds. :P

For sure I will do such a deep cleam, but not so often as you, I was planning to do it 1 time per quarter but I might do it more often like 1 time at 2 months.

I try to keep my hands clean when using it to avoid getting it dirty but if I will ever need to write something fast and leave some marks, I will use a cloth to clean it.

I have the RK68. Even though I have a few more expensive and nicer boards I've found the RK68 being my daily driver. I've done a few mods and swapped stabs/switches/keycaps and just love it. Simple and gets the job done.

Have fun when you start modding it OP! This is a great one to learn with.

You'll find your rhythm!

I just think it's super satisfying to have a perfectly clean keyboard and I thoroughly enjoy the process, so I do it a little more frequently :)

I've got a royal kludge as well and love it. I put gateron silent switches in it and it's perfect for me. I use the Bluetooth to jump back and forth between work and personal pc all day.

Same keybs. It's already good without mods but will be even better with mods.

Typing on a slightly modded RK68 plus (lubed stabs, the gamer keys swapped out for holy pandas and lubed reds) right now. It's a really great keyboard for the price and it will last you a really long time. Welcome to the club!

This is my first as well! I've clipped and relubed the stabilizers and got new keycaps. I also made the mistake of getting the brown switches, so i just swapped them out for lubed akko silvers. So far I absolutely love it!

I have a separate keyboard for work, I wfh so I want to detach a bit from work thus the different keyboard but, I am loving the mechanical keyboard so I am thinking, maybe I will get one for work with silent switches in case I need to go to the office so, I will look into gateron silent. Compared to a membrane keyboard, how loud are they?

2

T3ddyBeast t1_ixyyn68 wrote

They are membrane quiet but still feel good like a mech keyboard. I wanted something quieter for work and gaming (mashing f to pickup weapons was getting a little intense lol). This keeps the right feel but super quiet.

Looks Clean af man! I too wanted buy this shiny Boi but got the RK100 instead cuz it was 55$ and this one was 63. (Idk why it was like that) I think I'll enjoy the extra keys cuz that's the only thing it has that RK84 doesn't but honestly I'll miss the removable skirt. Anyways Let's enjoy our First Mech Keebs, Can't wait to get mine and mod it! :-D
