New build. Keychron Q5, whale keycaps, oil king switches, durok stabs, tap mod, holee mod, removed the thin factory foam and added a slightly thicker half rubber half foam insulation used on cars. Next build is gonna be Epomaker TH96 on stream.

I don't love having a numpad, but I don't hate it either.

Your setup looks great!

I prefer a separate numpad, but I'm not gonna lie, that does look kinda sexy.

Numpads are functional but are not completely necessary. As such, it’s not about love or hate - it’s about preference and what works for your setup.

Both depending on what I'm doing. Which is why I have a 65% for gaming and a 1800 for office tasks.

99% of all time it hinder. I used to use common number keys with 65% keyboard. More space for mouse. Also helps the hands to be in the center of the body when typing.

I need one sparingly but when I do need it, I really need it. So I have a standalone 10 key that works great and matches my 65% keyboard.

Also love being able to have it to the right of my mouse, or above my mouse.

Just takes up space on my desk, I’ve used TKL boards for years and love them.

This looks fantastic. I have a full size Ducky Shine 7 now but jumped on the GMMK Pro for black Friday. I need the numpad at work but excited for something a bit smaller for the gaming rig at home. I may bring the Ducky to the office, we'll see.

Sounds silly but I went with the brass for the look, even though you'll barely be able to see it under the switches and keycaps. I may try the O-ring mod IO Sam did to soften up the feel a bit, or switch it out with poly later if it just feels too stiff overall. I'll definitely be sharing pictures when it's done.

Please do! Oddly enough I actually had the GMMK pro for a month with the stock aluminum plate. Then I saw the Black Friday deal so being a terrible person I used amazons wide open return policy to take the direct from GMMK deal instead. It sounded great with lubed Glorious pandas and I also have a set of lubed Akko Purples to try. I wanted more thocc and the aluminum plate was already completely solid as far as flex.

Numpad is ok, but if I had one I would want it on the left side

At work? Numpad every day, all day. I do data entry, not having a numpad is a dealbreaker.

At home gimme that sweet sweet 75%. I could probably get away with 65% but I do like having the function keys.

I just ordered my first build and I took a 100% bc I numpad is so useful but if one day I take another one I'll probably take one without numpad

I currently use a 65 percent plus a macropad that acts as a numpad on the default layer. I do however find myself reaching over to the regular numpad quite often by accident, because at work I use a full sized retro cherry ATK.

To me if you use a numpad then it's function over looks. It's a keyboard afterall and no one but you should care which looks better.

Well said bro. This build was definitely more for function. So while editing, it’s a lot easier for me to punch in numbers repetitively with a numpad rather than the top row of numbers. But when I’m gaming, I swap over to the 75%.

I just bought the barebones Q5 kit for my next work build! Numpad is a must for the office and I wholly appreciate and approve. I feel like my red samurai keycap set is a little too loud for the office but I think that keycap set is *chefs kiss* Would be proud to rock that in my cubicle.

The numpad is my one must-have item on a keyboard.

That being said, I found out I don't need an 1800 to get it.
I have one in the middle of my 60% ortho board, on top of the right alphas.
