Went to donate some stuff I've been hoarding for 10 years to Goodwill today. Can't not go inside to browse. Found this Logitech k845ch with cherry blues for $3.50usd! What a deal from $80 new. What a coincidence cause my last keyboard was a Logitech g15 with rubber domes purchased secondhand like 15 years back. Anyways, this thing is fucking disgusting, coated in finger cheese and skin seasoning, pulled all the caps to soak in dawn and hot water. Letting em dry in front of a fan at the moment. Before I reassemble, I remembered I've seen all kinds of videos of people lubing the switches and adding o rings to dampen the sound. Is this worth it? They are definitely kinda loud and probably won't use it in my bedroom computer due to having roommates. Thoughts?

I think that's a soldered board. You wont be able to take out the switches easily. Not worth the trouble imo

lol, I was thinking of this same exact video. Cleaned with 99% isopropyl underneath the keys and there were a bunch of hairs stuck between the switches and chassis I had to pluck one by one...barf

The lube ain't gonna do much against the clicky switches. It could help lessen the wear on the keys but given that's already a 2nd hand keyboard, I don't think it's worth the effort.

I own this board, I'm like 90% sure the switches are not hot swappable

You've already spent more on gas getting home than what you got the board for, so honestly do whatever you want, my dude. Just don't forget to learn from your mistakes 😜
