I want to get into this hobby so bad but... I'm the kind of person who NEEDS my keypad. 100% keyboards only.

Ya but if you need your keypad you can get juuusttt a keypad in addition. Then you could punch in numbers overtop your head if you wanted.

Detachable numpads give you that option but without having an enormous keyboard

Check out the keychron v6. (Also Akko > ducky)

Yeah keychron is the solid cheaper, don't want to really try going too deep etc option.

Check some 96%/1800 boards for something a touch different (keychron V5 instead of V6 for K4V2)

Yep, the compact full size with the arrow keys slightly lower than the bottom row is perfection

You could get a separate num pad and use that as a first build before building a tenkeyless or 75% keyboard.
