Spacebars tend to sound very different from all the other keycaps because of the size and extra hollowness. Stick some foam, silicone or putty in there and it makes it more pleasant.

Nice! I might have to try that.
I was wondering because mine is super loud on the return stroke, like the stabilizers are topping out. It's great on the downstroke.

Might have to tune the wires if that's the case.
On the upstroke, the wires are essentially slamming into the top of the stab housing and causes that loud sound you may hear.
Using a heapin' scoop of 205g0 or dielectric grease can help tremendously

spacebars don’t sound bad whatsoever without foam…

Trust me. I have a couple builds where the spacebar sounds atrocious without any dampening/spacebar filling

that is the board’s fault lol. also, people on this sub tend to like deeper boards, so when a spacebar sounds lively, they hate it (which is fine but is not “unpleasant”). you can look up sound tests of tons of matrix boards, kfes, and duck boards with zero foam that sound great as well as unique unlike every pe foam board out there

I know, I have boards where the spacebar does sound good. I'm just saying that sometimes the spacebar needs dampening because of the board.
