Very nice collection. I've just ordered my first custom board, and I already have a couple of other boards I would like to build on. This is a deep and expensive rabbit hole!!

I personally prefer smaller boards. Started with a Keychron K4, then downsized to a Hunstman mini. I've ordered the new Tofu60 2.0. I'm now looking at 40% ortho split boards. Might build my wife a custom TKL. Best thing about it is I don't even type on a daily basis, and I only recently started gaming on kbm.

Love those keyboards! If you don't mind me asking, what are the keycaps on the right top corner keyboard?

These are awesome. What keyboard / key caps are the top left?

We seem to have very similar taste. I have the wooden 65 from KBDfans, the zoom 65, and have a Block67 on the way (remodeled Bakeneko65) The builds are looking sweet!

Not OP but that is probably the Octopus set from kinetic labs. It's cherry profile and PBT. I had them they seem to be in good quality, not sure about thickness but my RGB shines through some of the keys when the LEDs are bright enough.

I was looking at 65% bottom row layouts just yesterday! Nice collection you have there! What's your favorite bottom row?

Don’t I know it! Only got into keebs maybe a month ago, built my first, have a QK65 in the mail and I have a cart on Meletrix with a Zoom65 EE in it waiting for me to pick a damn color and pull the trigger 😩 I love it though

Nice taste! I have the botanical keycaps myself and really love ‘em. How do you like the zoom?

Same story happened to me. It start with a clicky gaming keyboard, and after a year you got a minus in your bank lmao.

Honestly, i feel like owning too many different keyboards of the same layout is sth i cant really releate. Apart from my vintage keebs (Cherrys, Model M, alps) i only own one 75% (keychron Q1, QK75 on order) and one 65% (kbd67).

I still havent found the absolute perfect 75% lookswise that also works feature and price wise (im an ISO guy) but its really good, and already having another 75% on order is weird.

The kbd67 isnt perfect cause of the rather harsh implementation of gasketmounting, but the ability to cheaply change the colourway by changing the top case is phenomenal. I have 6 different coloured top cases and they can completly change the look of the board. Doesnt matter its ABS, it feels good and i dont need the expensive alluminum frame.

It was a great first board to build. It wasn't too difficult and a very reasonable price. Don't think I would appreciate it as much if I was getting it now though.

Slap some silent switches on it and it's a great board to take to the office though

I hear that often but you have to see that in perspective with other hobbies.Years ago photography was my hobby. With 60+ camera's and uncountable lenses, scanners and printers that hobby is far more expensive. A sole lens can cost more than a thousant dollars.Friends of mine have automobile hobby. They like classic cars and not only invest in those cars but also in spare parts, monthly rent for garages etc....

The keyboard hobby is in comparison to these hobbies very very modest.I can lurk weeks for a set of switches costing 50 cents a piece and still not making a decission.

ctkgavin t1_j6figmb wrote

Youve got that right. Keyboards are an expensive hobby, but nothing like cars or cameras. My friends RebelT5 bundle was like 2.5-5 thousand when he got it new years ago, and most of that price came from the extra lens in the bundle lol.
