Oh man you’re right. There has to be a market for real LEGO brick sets that are compatible with this keyboard. I totally want to spend more time and come up with different designs. So much fun haha.

Since you know the size of it, try designing something using brick link’s stud.io program. It’s relatively easy to use. And you can let your imagination go wild.

I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Tell your kids to bring the legos to my house, this looks sweet! I wish I was anywhere near this creative! Also! Did you put an angle on? I can’t figure out how to make this not flat for typing.
awolkriblo t1_j6gbzte wrote
I stuck the little feet that come with IKEA drawer sets on mine lol
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6gjf8v wrote
Yeah I need to add rubber feet still so it won’t slide around on my desk. LEGO makes rubber feet now. I’ve encountered them on the Optimus Prime LEGO set. Might try and get some of those to keep it purely LEGO haha.
hunter5226 t1_j6h15ba wrote
Depending on your taste the Lego bonsai tree also has some subber feet. It's a stationary holder for a smaller rubber wheel size that stands off a a totwof about a brick.
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6h821h wrote
Oh nice. Guess this gives me a reason to open a bonsai set. Thank you for the recommendation.
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6fyfsg wrote
Haha thank you! I love how it turned out. And it was just some quality time spent sifting through the mountain of LEGO with the kids.
I did put an angle on it. I replaced the large flat plates with ones that you can add bricks to the bottom. Then added a row of bricks to the bottom of the rear edge. Might work on a wrist rest next.
Hootinnanny87 t1_j6fyrv2 wrote
That’s what I was thinking. Do they only make those is 8x16? I feel like that was the biggest plate I could find that could mate bricks from under. I’ve also seen people put a slight angle by adding bricks and putting the board on an angle. I’m a little more afraid of that because I could see myself bending or cracking it.
Corrovich t1_j6h4clu wrote
The largest plates Lego makes is 16x16
Hootinnanny87 t1_j6hk3ey wrote
Do you happen to know the part number? All I could come across was 8x16 for standard plates

Amazing thank you so much.
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6g36aq wrote
I used five 8x16 plates for the bottom. It got the job done. With the original kit I got a good angle using different size rubber feet.
Hootinnanny87 t1_j6g5tlo wrote
That’s exactly what I was considering doing. Now I need to buy 5 plates….
undesputed t1_j6gl389 wrote
I couldn't find anywhere that sells the part new, so I just ordered some used ones from eBay. I didn't get them yet, and I hope the color isn't too yellowed.
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6gf5w7 wrote
Good luck searching for pieces and happy modding!
DatAsspiration t1_j6gpqil wrote
You can buy "ramp" pieces from LEGO
phlooo t1_j6hdn84 wrote
Just swap out the bottom plate with full plates and stick some angled bricks...

This turned out great, well done! I really like the random caution block below the space bar.
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6gj2cj wrote
Thanks! I’m so happy with it haha. I set that caution LEGO piece aside when searching for pieces and wasn’t sure if I wanted to use it initially. My daughter helped me finish up and she used it so I decided to keep it cause it was really the cherry on top of the randomness sundae.

Love it! That’s a really great color combo
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6gkyb6 wrote
Thank you! I did focus a bit on making sure two pieces of the same color were not placed adjacent to each other and tried to not use brown, black, or gray pieces.

Seriously though, it looks pretty awesome :)

I’m fairly new to the keyboard hobby so I’m not sure what a resin pour is haha.
Thank you for the compliment!

lego is really good at everything except expensive
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6gljom wrote
Oh yeah totally. I watched a video where someone ordered all the LEGO pieces and it came out to $100 for just the bricks. I was gonna be lazy at first and do the same but decided to save money instead. I think it looks way better like this than if I would have bought pieces cause of all the colors. And it was a great time hanging out with my kids.

Love it! Does anyone have an online copy of the instruction manual or a list of the pieces needed to build it as I would like to buy the pieces in different colours?

User mmqn made a list of Lego parts for the Adam.
BabaDopamine OP t1_j6iyr0l wrote
This guy has the pieces listed in his video description. I made some modifications due to availability of pieces in my pile. DM me and when I find time I can scan the instructions for you.
