EDIT: This is a new/reproduction Model F77 from modelfkeyboards.com

Never really thought about an alternative to my lame MacBook keyboard until I stumbled upon this subreddit... Thought back to the old beige Macs/PCs I used growing up in the 90s and got nostalgic.

I decided I wanted a mechanical keyboard with that old school aesthetic and an almost typewriter like feel... Like my IBM Selectric but actually practical.

I didn't want to spend a bunch of time/money buying & selling keyboards working up to my "endgame".... I've done enough of that in other hobbies and know what I wanted- the biggest baddest beige-iest MF there is.

This keyboard rocks... Everything I hoped for and more. The setup is kinda half HHKB- I liked the idea of having FN right next to my pinky, but I also wanted to keep my Mac muscle memory with caps lock/control.

The sound is epic... The feel is even better... The weight is insane- highly recommend!

Think this might be the first one here posted with the apple style keycaps... I'm digging it.

I've got the compact version, but in a similar HHKBish layout, I just use the right hand block for macros. They're absolutely fantastic keyboards, there's no other new keyboard on the market like them.

It really is amazing to have a computer accessory/peripheral that isn’t built to be replaceable… I’ll be using this thing long after my current computers/hard drives are obsolete.

Yes sorry I should have specified- new model F77.

Was shipped within a week of ordering, really easy process.

Pretty sure it’s a one man operation- Joe was super helpful answering my questions before purchasing.

It’s insane… Literally just about 10lbs- it’s actually hilarious and so awesome for home use.

If I ever feel the need for a 2nd keyboard it would be the 60% version with the compact aluminum case to commute with… Half the weight and barely bigger than the backing plates.

Half the weight would still be 5lb, amazing for a 60%, Id love to try one.
