Nice setup! I’ve got exactely the same setup. It is a Q3 by the way. Same key caps in ISO FR ;-) (carbon set from keychron). I wish they could produce an ISO FR wob keycap set! I ve put some gateron KS3 milky yellow pro switches and added some pe foam between the plate and pcb.

Edit : I noticed yours is translucent sorry my mistake, it is indeed a V3.. so they are not exactely the same :-)

I also considered the Q3 but I decided to start with a lower budget.

I bought the prebuilt one with the K pro switches because the difference in price was pretty much nothing and I'm trying to figure out what switches I like. It can be overwhelming but maybe I'll buy one of those switch testers!

I think this is the way you fall in the rabbit hole 💸💸

Yes, it is an expensive hobby. At least having no choice for keycaps in ISO (It-Fr) avoids us some extra expenses. Bought it prebuilt with red pros and then changed to milky yellow pros. A bit heavier. I’d like to try some tactile switches someday.

I finally found a nice keyboard with some nice keycaps in ISO-IT layout.

They are so hard to find that I'm thinking of switching to iso-uk and buy some cheap stickers for my laptop.

I also got a wrist rest from glorious PC that I think looks good with the keyboard even though it's a bit shorter.

These are the specs:

  • Keyboard: Keychron V3 ISO with Knob
  • Switches: Keychron K Pro Brown
  • Keycaps: Keychron Dye-Sub PBT Carbon Vibe

I don't have much experience with other switches but I like how these browns feel and sound. I will try others in the future though since the keyboard is hot swappable.

For now i'm very happy with this!

I just wish there were more iso tkl's that are hotswap.

Me too... I thought about switching to ansi but I need to have consistency between my keyboard and my laptop and here it's not easy to find and ansi laptop without importing it.

True. I need my extra letters also

I really wish they would offer a tkl with a knob without it being an iso layout.

1

davideb263 OP t1_j5ksxi2 wrote

There are both V3 and Q3 in ANSI layout with the knob. The Q3 it's sold out in some variants though

Well now I’m bummin, didn’t see that option on the sight and just ordered a K8.

davideb263 OP t1_j5lceo6 wrote

They have so many different models that it's easy to miss something... Besides the price I ordered the V3 because I didn't found the Q3 ISO. I found that too a few days later

Very nice! I bought that same wrist rest last week and love it so far. I like that you have the cutting mat as your desk mat. I might do that because I want to use my desk as a work bench for little projects too. Thanks for the inspiration

davideb263 OP t1_j5ldlxi wrote

Yes it's very comfortable! As for the desk mat I had to cut 100 custom cardboard sleeves for my band's EP so I bought a cutting mat. Then I thought it could be good also as a desk mat

Which wrist rest is it? Thank you

It's the wooden wrist rest from glorious. I think that's the actual name. Very wide and comfortable

Sry for the bad english. What is this thing where your keyboard is plugged in? Nice keyboard btw

1

davideb263 OP t1_j5nofo0 wrote

That's a KVM switch. It allows multiple devices to share the same peripherals and monitor, so I can switch to the pc I want to use without the need to disconnect and reconnect mouse keyboard and webcam every time. It's really handy for WFH!

maurojdmjr t1_j5o7pil wrote

Nice. Do you have a link for that? I'm interessed. Having some issues with 2 laptops and 2 displays.

1

davideb263 OP t1_j5ocdeq wrote

this is mine and it is 4x1 ( 4 inputs and 1 output) There's also a 2x1version if you don't need more. With this you can connect your two laptops with a single monitor. If you need 2 monitors there are also models with multi monitor support like this

Yes! One of the best purchase I've ever made

I just transitioned from an MX Vertical to the Ergo, I'm surprised at how well I adapted. Wish it was more customizable, all I've been able to do is replace the gray trackball with a gold one.

davideb263 OP t1_j5p7yiw wrote

logitech is not famous for being very customizable but it's the best thumb trackball on the market imo.
You could replace the switches though if you can solder
