Interesting. The oldest members of my family (60s) listen to SOAD, Eminem, Muse etc, while the youngest in my family (19) listens to classical music, and has a particular interest in old sea shanties. My mother died about 10 years ago in her 70s, and she was still listening regularly to the latest pop music. At 60, I love mainly alt rock, grunge & electronic, but also African music like African Head Charge. It might be just my family, but I think music is pretty universal
