I've recently started acquiring a taste for aggressive music beyond the metal genre. Here's what I've found so far.

John Wick introduced me to Le Castle Vania.

My Friend Pedro introduced me to Battlejuice.

And... that's about it. Are there any other artists that have a similar aggressive sound in this genre? I've tried navigating the electronic genre but most other artists have upbeat music and I'm looking for shit to listen to that'll give me some fucking adrenaline. (nothing against upbeat music or more experimental stuff - just looking for a very specific kind of vibe rn)

Thanks in advance!

edit: thanks for all the suggestions :D

Carpenter Brut and Dance With The Dead do a pretty good job blending dark electronic with metal. Both of their most recent albums (Leather Terror and Driven to Madness, respectively) are good exemplars of what I’m talking about.

  • Boys Noize's album Out of the Black
  • Nero's album Welcome Reality
  • Gesaffelstein's albums Aleph and Hyperion
  • Djedjptronic's album RUR
  • The Chemical Brothers' album Born In The Echoes
  • The Glitch Mob's album Love Death Immortality

Plenty of the dark and heavy in electronic.

Fellow metal head who lines to dabble in electronic music here and there. TBH I listen to playlists I find more often than specific artists/producers. I like a variety of drum and bass, but playlists I've listened to including the words "atmospheric" or "dark" might be more up your alley. I've found goa trance can often be dark yet high energy. One artist I do know that the first La Castle Vania song I heard reminded me of is called Savant. Hope some of this leads you to some tunes!

Shivaxi has mixes where he introduces some pretty badass dark electro

Scan around a little, I think this mix opens on a relatively happy note.

Can anyone cross reference or correlate which of these dark electronic bands are FFO (for fans of) and then mention the metal band? Closely following this thread, super interested in this. I like a lot of different types of metal and I’m certainly interested in electronic, but have never correlated the two (like wow, these guys are like the pantera of house music!)

Magic Sword have some heavier tracks. Killer synth riffs and deep bass.

Not exactly heavy but check out Zombi. They were signed to Relapse records (that’s how I found them) and do some cool shit.

i'm a longtime fan of some electronic and some death metal. so bands like Godflesh and Nine Inch Nails have produced some of my favorite music.

You might be looking for 'dark jungle' or 'evil jungle' Youtube is the easiest way for me to find stuff like this, because it's usually in mixes. there are also tracklists for a lot of those mixes too tho.

Like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NRSBDERmrlE Some tracks in this one are good too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVj3CGx-rH4
