For example, Serj Tankian appearing on Deftones' song "Mein", or M. Shadows appearing on Good Charlotte's song "The River".

MJK on Deftones “Passenger”
I actually never knew that! That's awesome
Also a good one.
Maynard James Keenan on Know Your Enemy - RATM
Sandy Denny on The Battle of Evermore - Led Zeppelin
Mick jagger in carly simon's "your so vain"
Chino Moreno’s appearance in Embers by Lamb of God. Also MJK on Deftones Passenger
MF DOOM's appearance on November Has Come by Gorillaz
Opeth - Bleak with Steven Wilson on vocals
Bob Dylan singing a parody of himself on the Frank Zappa song ‘Flakes’ from the Sheik Yerbouti album
Huh, I didn't know that it was him singing.
Akerfeldt does a fantastic solo in Arriving Somewhere But Not Here.
Gerard Way (MCR) on Murder By Death’s The Devil in Mexico.
Mark Hoppus on I'd Do Anything by Simple Plan.
A fun little verse that geeked the little emo/punk kid in me.
Q-Tip on Groove Is in the Heart by Deee-Lite
Alan Averill/Neamtheanga (Primordial) on Heidevolk’s “The Alliance” off Vuur van Verzet (2018). I had tattoos of both bands already so that discovery was mind-blowing.

Tanya Donnelly from The Throwing Muses/Belly on Catherine Wheel's "Judy Staring At The Sun". Interesting note: On the album, she only sings the chorus, but in the video she sings the second verse as well. I linked the video, bc that version is the best.
Kate Pierson from the B52s on Iggy Pop's "Candy".
Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me. Michael Jackson wasn't credited for the song, even everybody could clearly hear it was him.

Iggy Pop - The Passenger. It has David Bowie on the backing vocals
Came in here for this one. So good.
Chino is credited in the track title for embers isn't he?
Jack White on Danger High Voltage by Electric Six.
I don’t think so man, not on spotify at least. He might be credited in the track title on the actual cd though, I’ll have to check.
Eddie Vedder on Peace and Love from Mirror Ball (Neil Young). Even though Pearl Jam is the band for the album, this was the only track with a lead vocal section by Vedder. I think he also sang background on I'm the Ocean and maybe a few more.
It's old and I can't find it on Spotify but it's either the last track or a hidden track on the Renegades album but it's a live version of "How I could just kill a man" with Cypress Hill. Out of the two on that album I prefer the live one because of that.
Edit: crap forgot to say it was the Rage against the machine: Renegades. Just for those that wouldn't know.
Death of an Angel by human drama featuring a barely credited Leslie Dowdall of In Tua Nua
Jack Antonoff did the background vocals for Taylor Swift's out of the Woods. He's the producer of the song and that's definitely his voice, but it's not a feature.
It was Jermaine. Not Michael.
It was both, It features guest vocals by brothers Michael Jackson (in the chorus) and Jermaine Jackson (additional backing vocals).
Such a great song, thanks for reminding me of it!

Sting on "Money For Nothing" by Dire Straits.
I just double checked he's definitely in the parentheses on spotify's track listing for it.
Chino Moreno on Embers by Lamb of God. This screamed transitions between the vocals is divine
God Help Me -the Jesus and Mary chain. Shane MacGowan on vocals
Alice Cooper doing vocals on Guns N' Roses "The Garden".
I recently learned that Shannon Hoon sings backup on Don't Cry by Guns & Roses
Corey Taylor doing the whistling for Secret Door by Avatar. Not that it's anything amazing (I mean, the guy can whistle, but like, so can a lot of people), I just find it hilarious that he, of all people, was the one to do it. No vocals, just whistling.
That’s really strange, I can’t see his name anywhere. Could be different between the Uk and US version of Spotify
Jerry Garcia plays pedal steel on "Teach Your Children" by CSNY.
William Elliot Whitmore is on Until the Morale Improves
Tommy Lee on Drums for Jack's Mannequin's debut album.
George Michael on Deon Estus' "Heaven Help Me"
For real?
>Iggy Pop - The Passenger. It has David Bowie
Pro Tip: Go look up the song "Pretty Pink Rose" by Adrien Belew. You're welcome.
Old thick neck Hank Rollins on ‘Bottom’ by tool was legit.
Phil Daniels on “Parklife”
Oh cool - never noticed that. Such a killer album
My first though was Marcus Mumford on her track Cowboy Like Me!
Roy Harper sings lead on Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd, not Gilmour or Waters.
Dave Grohl on drums for Queens of the stone age. I remember him in the video for no one knows. He was also the devil in Tribute by tenacious D
Rick Wakeman playing piano on Cat Steven’s “Morning Has Broken”
James Hetfield on Danzig's first album. I know he sings backing vocals on Twist of Cain and one other song.
Damon Albarn on The Rentals song "Big Daddy C"
Brendon Urie, Elvis Costello and others doing backing vocals of previous Fall Out Boy songs on "What A Catch, Donnie"
Sam Carter from Architects on "Don't Wait" by Neck Deep
Corey Taylor, Steve Vai, Dave Ellefson, Neal Morse and others guest spoken words on "Repentance" by Dream Theater
Liza Minelli as the titular "Mama" by My Chemical Romance.
And OP, I'm pretty sure it's Synyster Gates that does the guiar solo on The River too.
Iggy Pop on the chorus of Rolodex Propaganda by At the Drive in.
Henry Rollins on Bottom By Tool is another good one.
Ryo Kawasaki appears in the credits of the video of the album Moebius (- Cedar Walton), but not in the title. Probably because he is not in every song, but should appear since he is a beast
I have a few...
Linda Perry on P!nk's "Lonely Girl". Linda cowrote much of the album, but sings in this track.
John Lennon on David Bowie's "Fame".
Justin Hawkins on Steel Panther's "Party All Day", or on Meatloaf's "Next Time You Stab Me in the Back, You Better Do It to My Face", which Justin also cowrote.
James Taylor on Carole King's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow".
Stevie Ray Vaughan on David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’
Johnny Depp played slide guitar on ‘Fade in Out’ by Oasis
He also drummed for Tenacious D, intermittently.
Sammy Davis Jr on brown eyed girl
Lenny Kravitz on Billy Jack Bitch
Mick Jagger on Peter Wolf's cover of "Nothing But The Wheel"
Prince’s full-on, uncredited vocal duet on Sheila E’s “A Love Bizarre.”
Also: live and let die, November rain, you ain't the first, and the garden
Eddie Vedder credited as Wes C Adle for Felicity's Surprise by Wellwater Conspiracy
Roy Harper singing Have a cigar because no one in Pink Floyd could
Bert McCracken with Goldfinger - Open Your Eyes.
Ann Wilson of Heart singing on Alice In Chains’ “Brother” and “Am I Inside”
Johnny Cash on U2’s the wanderer
John Lennon singing backup vocals on bowies fame .. thought that was so cool and such a sick surprise
As in Bad Religion Recipe for Hate album???
Lou Rawls on Bring It On Home To Me-Sam Cooke.
Eric Clapton on While My Guitar Gently Weeps-The Beatles
Lennon and McCartney on WeLove You-Rolling Stones
The same.
Rivers Cuomo in “End of Me” by Billy Talent
Also on David Bowie's Fame, it's really featuring John Lennon
Aaron Weiss on Memphis will be laid to waste by Norma Jean
In return, Iggy does the backing vocals for “What in the World” from Bowie’s Low.
Del the Funky Homosapien on Clint Eastwood and Rock the House.
Chuck D on Sonic Youth’s “Kool Thing”, which is kinda odd because the song is actually about LL Cool J.
A non-vocal one: the sax solo on Steely Dan’s “Aja” is by the great Wayne Shorter.
I was gonna say M. Shadows on “The River”! Glad that got some recognition!
Amazed, been a Bad Religion fan for 30 years
Co-written in a single night by both. So I’d say he’s a credited writer.
I didn't know about that one!
I guess I struck a nerve.
Nile Rodgers on every song he worked on from daft punk’s “Random Access Memories” album
They're supposed to appear on the title track?
Eddie Van Halen played the guitar solo on Michael Jackson - Beat It from the album Thriller.
imnotberg t1_je9b0sy wrote
Edward Vedder on the entire recipe for hate album.
