The singer from Nightwish Floor Janssen started out with "After Forever" (Dutch band) and that was one heck of a band.

Oh another amazing one from the Netherlands: Ambeon (also a Dutch "band"). 1 EP called "fate of the dreamer" if you can find it. Ambient music but with a gothic metal kick. Sung bu a young girl with a voice.
