I’ve been fortunate enough to see some amazing concerts. I’m curious, though: what’s been the most memorable concert experience you’ve had? It could be meeting so and so, getting up on stage (a lá Green Day style lol) or just the best live performance you’ve had the pleasure of seeing. Can’t wait to hear from y’all!

For me, the first one that comes to mind is Aerosmith, first of two nights in Atlanta during the Pump tour. It was a tight show, and Dream On was a highlight.

I would have 100% gone and seen any of those acts though. Did see Hunter with the Dead and Allman Brothers at the Gorge in 04. Was a real amazing day. Definitely top 10.
I actually got to see Marley twice, each time he was great. Robert Hunter was a nice guy, got to sit at the bar with him after hours and chat with him for a few hours.
Rodrigo y Gabriela. Never have I seen two musicians in such perfect synch with each other. And they somehow make just two guitars feel like a full blown rock performance. Plus I'm a guitarist myself and I got to sit near the front row and have my mind blown watching them play.
Nine inch nails/Bowie was pretty amazing!
Rammstein. They are truly masters of their craft.
Snoop & Dre in 2012 was an insane performance. I don't think there's any hip hop performance that can beat it, Tupac hologram had me trippin.
Chemical Brothers in 2019, just an unreal show from the props, to the live remixes to the visuals were all amazing.
Ratatat in 2015 put on a performance that I won't soon forget. Insane visual production and the festival crowd was great and all fans as there was a headliner playing at the same time.
Silverstein in 2015 for their Discovering The Waterfront 10 year anniversary show was fucking great. They and the openers Beartooth brought that house of blues down that night.
But the best show I've ever been to was The Used in 2016. It was the anniversary show for their album In Love And Death. There is nothing quite like being in a club with nothing but mega fans of a band and all screaming the lyrics at each other. I laughed, I cried, I got punched, I punched back, I moshed, I kissed and danced with my (now) wife. It was incredible. They closed with a 4 piece orchestral rendition of Bird Nad The Worm as an encore and it just blew me the fuck away. Nothing will top that feeling for me.
Rock Hall 25th Anniversary concert, night 2. It was pretty great. I got to see Aretha sing Respect, Jerry Lee Lewis todder out to play & sing Great Balls of Fire, and goddamn Buddy Guy. And that version of Because The Night was magic. (And Metallica and The Rolling Stones and U2 are my favorite bands, so that was all just icing on the cake.)
I got to see Prince, too. It was the Musicology tour, so he'd already stopped playing most of his 80s hits by then, but that man was so goddamn talented he could have sat there and tuned his guitar for a couple hours and I would have been elated. Purple Rain live - there is nothing in the world like it.
Oh, and Springsteen's Ghost of Tom Joad tour. Amazing! 3 hours of the man and his guitar, just two very short breaks and the rest blowing our minds.
Celine Dion - fantastic production values, voice of a god on high. Wasn't super into her at the time, still had a fucking amazing time at the show, which cemented for me that she was a goddamn marvel.
Beach Boys when they toured without Brian Wilson. Night two of Metallica S&M 2. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Mike Campbell, my god. U2 at Aloha Stadium. Guns N Roses opening for Aerosmith.
I can't choose. There are too many. So much great music!
Wow man! You sound like you’ve traveled the concert world in style! I’m admittedly a bit jealous that you’ve seen an S&M show, I’ve only seen replays but I can obviously still tell it was just amazing
Dad was a music guy - I was going to concerts while I was still in single digits. If only I hadn't been flat broke for a decade, I could have gone to so many more!
And I can't believe I forgot to mention BB King. The stories he told while on stage - just as entertaining as the music.

And yes, S&M2 was pretty damn great. It's something special being at a show with only fanclub members. The energy was INSANE.
3 nights with bob dylan, roger waters,The Who,rolling stone,Paul McCartney,Neil young . So good we went back for the second weekend that was added
Bruce Spingsteen, i wanna say mid 2012s Jake was brought out to replace his dad/uncle and just jammed out. Really solid show with good friends, no drama, and a bunch of older people that just wanted to rock
The WHO with 110K people, early 80s, the Clash was one of the warmup bands
Iron Maiden/Judas Priest same show.

Flaming Lips are a fun show. James Blake and Leslie Feist (separately) are both great performances as well.
The final Dillinger Escape Plan in Michigan. Just nothing but strobe lights, various band members in the crowd, violent pits, and the singer jumping off the balcony. I miss them so much.
The first show of Odesza’s most recent tour. It was their first show in three years, it was a hometown show for them, and they sold out three nights in an arena, so the energy was incredible. And the production level of that tour was insane. I was on the rail and getting singed from all the pyro haha
I saw The Grateful Dead at the last show they ever played in St Louis (3rd to last show ever) and I'm told I had an amazing time at the show, and for several days after.
Yeah you did. You were wild!

In 2018, I saw my 2 most favorite bands, Haken & Leprous, who were touring together. They had amazing setlists and their performances were flawless.
I would have to say all of my best concert experiences happened this year. But one that stands out is meeting my favorite band ever DIIV at their concert two days after freaking out at a Deadmau5 show on molly. It was a very surreal experience. I was very happy to meet them but also felt nothing at the same time because I was completely out of serotonin I guess.

Nine Inch Nails, Lights Out Tour in Sacramento. Second to last show.
Reznor was treating this like he was retiring and it would be his final tour. He wanted to make a concert video, but his record company wouldn't let him, so he had professional footage and audio of the last few shows recorded and uploaded the raw footage and audio to anyone that wanted it. Some talented fans put concert DVDs and audio out there with excellent mixing and engineering, and I often relive that concert.
