So. I'm having a crisis of memory. I swear to God I feel like that there have been 2 versions of the tribute music video.

Back in the mid 90's I remember watching tenacious d on HBO. I distinctly remember tribute and in the video they walk down the road and have a wrestling match with the demon from the song.

All I can seem to find is the music video where they are telling the story for one of those music booths that used to be in malls. I've tried to find the old clip for years.

It starts with them in the club and the manager telling them to get off the stage. Then they go into the sound. Etc. This was years before pick of destiny came out. Am I going crazy or have all the years melded together? It's probably been 15 years since I saw the pick movie.

I seriously remember tenacious d being on HBO years before the movie. Did I warp facts or what?

You are correct in there being two videos! The only way I’ve every found the original one is by watching the entire episode on YouTube or by looking up an HBO song compilation

I actually own the HBO tenacious D episodes. Been a while since I watched them. I just looked and they are on HBO max. You want episode 2 - death of a dream/ the greatest song in the world. My personal favorite is episode 3 - road gig. Jesus Ranch is one of my favorite tenacious d songs. The HBO episodes came out in 1999 and the album came out a few years later with a different version of Tribute. Love JB and KG.
