Opeth - Blackwater Park. Fantastic album which broadened my horizons and helped appreciate more "extreme" music (for me at the time). I love going back to it regularly.

Anathema - The Optimist. Oh boy, this one has an extra layer of emotional baggage attached to it. It's the direct sequel to their album "A Fine Day to Exit", which i discovered in my early 20's. Fast forward 10 years or so later and I'm listening to what would be the very last Anathema album (they broke up shortly after). It makes me ponder what happened in between (the tragically common break up with what I thought was the love of my life and rebuilding myself from scratch), truly the "end of an era" feeling distilled in one album. 10/10, perfect for making me sad.
