After weeks, months or even years, what album do you find yourself going back to listen to

Off the top of my head, these are mine

Brace - Birds of Tokyo (2015)..... The 2nd Law - Muse (2012)..... Sights & Sounds - More Than Lights (2012)..... Cosmic Egg - Wolfmother (2009)..... And when the mood calls for it... Nymphetamine - Cradle of Filth (2004)

Talking Heads - Remain in Light (1980)

The rhythms on this album are just amazing.

I saw Byrne live in 2009 and he played all but one or two songs from that album, and a few from Fear of Music as well

Same my friend! The album creates a memory. Funny thing is I had never heard a flaming lips album before, this was my first. Unfortunately they’ve never come close to touching this album.

A friend introduced it to me in high school and it blew me away, it was the first time I “got” the dead and became a huge fan from there.

I’ve bought the album multiple times through the years and still listen to it often.

4

Jon-G1508 OP t1_itewnn9 wrote

Oo sounds intriguing, is The Commitments a movie soundtrack?

2

Bishop503305 t1_iteyap6 wrote

Yeah, it’s a soundtrack from a 1991 movie about a fictional Irish soul band and is fucking amazing. Apple Music will have the double album, totally great if you’re into that kind of style and the movie is a bit harder to find but it’s out there if you look around. Also, the lead male singer in the band was only 16 when the recoded the album, unbelievable voice for a teenager

These three are all 100% pure bangers. My adrenaline shots whenever I need it.

Anathema - The Optimist. Oh boy, this one has an extra layer of emotional baggage attached to it. It's the direct sequel to their album "A Fine Day to Exit", which i discovered in my early 20's. Fast forward 10 years or so later and I'm listening to what would be the very last Anathema album (they broke up shortly after). It makes me ponder what happened in between (the tragically common break up with what I thought was the love of my life and rebuilding myself from scratch), truly the "end of an era" feeling distilled in one album. 10/10, perfect for making me sad.
