Do you have a song you return to listen occasionally when you think about a past relationship or when you think about getting through a tough time in your life? A song you only listen to when you get in that headspace.

What's that song?

For me its,

Explosion in the Sky - So Long Lonesome [Post Rock]

They have so many great songs.. I can't help but feel overwhelmed after listening to their music. I've been going back to this same song for 15 years and its my little happy place for a few minutes.

Music is a bit like a time-machine to visit old ghosts we try to keep in little boxes.

I knew that first one the moment I heard it, great tune.

For me Dreaming my dreams has always had as special place for me as well as Disappointment. Happy to see someone else having some cranberries. I don't think I've heard that PPK song before but it reminded me of my love for Trentemoller - Miss you.

Thanks again for sharing your music with me!

Just When I Needed You Most, Randy VanWarmer

Not my normal genre as a Metal fan, but it sums up the relationship

I like the Metallica, Warlock, Priest, Iron Maiden, Type O Negative, Dio, etc

I also like Prog Rock: Tool, Suns of the Tundra, Dream Theater, Korn

Good cover, though the vocals are drowned out. Could have been a little bit stronger.

Maps by The Yeah Yeah Yeahs. I used to date a musician whose band would play this song at shows after we started dating and it does at least 1d4 emotional damage to me every time I listen to it.

Thanks for sharing man, that slipknot song hit hard, as someone who always listened to music from a drumming perspective first it was sad to hear Joey Jordison had passed away. I used to watch his Youtube Videos of his warming up and doing blast beats. He was a beast. If I can share some music with you check out: The Fall of Efrafa: Pity the Weak.. great Energy I always feel like I'm walking away from the table with my head on fire after listen to it. You remember that scene in Crank when he takes the adrenaline shot in the hospital? This song could of been used, but I do love the original: The Crowd - Trix are for kids.

I cried when I found out Joey passed (he passed away on one of my friends birthdays) and I’m going to go check out those songs now! Ty for recommending them :)

If you're into metal you might already be into Gojira, the song - Love is just a classic. Sooo fast, I used to get up on Saturday morning and drink a strong coffee and listen to that song and that would be my way to start my weekend. let me know what you think.

I was thinking about posting roughly the same question on here the other day, because music is one of the only things that helps me keep memories. I remember very little of my life, and my brain is still constantly deleting as much as it can as time goes on. I'm assuming it's a trauma response from my childhood that decided to stick around. However, music seems to really lock shit in for me. I was very pleasantly surprised to see you say Explosions In The Sky, seems like nobody ever knows them. I love that whole album, hearing it for the first time is a vibrant memory for me, but It's Natural to be Afraid and So Long, Lonesome really hit me the most now. One of these days I'll actually listen to more of their music. I could go on and on and list a lot of music, but this is already really long. I mentioned a Feist song in another comment, but I think the closest thing to an answer to your specific question for me is Clark - The Autumnal Crush. Had a good cry to it yesterday actually.
