It’s still around. It’s maybe a little more niche than Spotify. It doesn’t have podcasts but it has higher quality audio and I think better music discovery features.

Not having podcasts is one of the reasons i switched to it.

You switched to Tidal because it doesn’t have podcasts?

Not the above commenter, but I can totally understand the reasoning.

I considered a few different streaming services before ultimately settling on SoundCloud Go+. Spotify had two big strikes against it: the very low artist payouts and the prominence given to podcasts.

I buy most of my music, so when I stream, discovery of new artists and releases is the biggest focus. Spotify’s podcast focus detracts hugely from music discovery, so I passed on it.

If you’re really just focusing on music, having half the screen taken up by podcast recommendations is a huge slog.

You’re really overselling how much the podcasts are featured on the main page especially if you don’t listen to them

I agree. I see maybe 2 a week and if I don't click then they go away. I follow every artist I listen to so I get notifications on the feed for new releases and that pretty much takes over the podcast recommended
