Historically, it's not exactly been a level playing field. Because of this, it's a lot more complicated than simply implying societal hypocrisy or "unfairness" by comparing what a black person said about a white person to if a white person said the same thing about a black person.
Also this is hypothetical. If someone does indeed say they are not making music for black people, then we'll see what happens and how people react.
If Lizzo's quote offends you (you didn't say it did, but it impacted you enough to post about it) then just don't listen to her music and try to ignore her.

Yeah, she's making music for people. All people. But even if she meant that she could give a fuck if white people listened, so what? If I had to put up with all the constant racist bullshit that.black people in NA get I'd be totally racist against white people.
