It could also be considered greedy that you feel entitled to somebody else's work without them seeing a dime.

On top of that, music has never been more free than it is today. If listening to an ad here and there is too much for you, I can't imagine how you would have felt in the pre internet era.

Then there wouldn’t be music, or there would be a lot less, since the people that make it wouldn’t be able to live off it.

Your mind may live in an ideal world but, sadly, musicians don't. They live in a material world where they have to pay for accommodation, food and clothing.
