I've been searching for an answer to this every once in a while, but i never see anything that relates to women not liking to listen to male artist, But its always vice versa.

I've seen that my playlist is almost full of female artist except for a few male artist, maybe like 2 lol. I think i might have to do with the fact that i like 90's and 2000's rnb, soul and hiphop but i dont think so because male artist were also dominating in those gernes at that time so.

But yeah does anyone think they can help me out by answering to see why or is it just like a random preference thing everyone has.

if u answer to this, thank u ❤

I suspect it is just your personal tastes. I am a male and find I listen to a disproportionate amount of female lead singers.

No correlation to your gender

I like mostly female vocals, however all of my favorite "music" is made by males. As a man, I prefer the sound of a ladys voice singing, though I've never been just blown away by a female guitar player or drummer. Have a great day!

Have you listened to Tricot or Covet? They have some songs with some breathtaking guitar playing!

Maybe it's easier for you to relate with them lyrically?

They sing about what you identify with.

I believe your brain prefers it that way. You probably have moments where you're the one singing the song?

Part of it can just be aesthetics and a female vocal range may be more appealing to you. Also a lot of music that has lyrics and themes that resonate with women will be written by women or write for a female artist. Obviously no artist will have fans of all one gender but for example Taylor Swift, Lizzo and Billie Eilish both write songs about the female experience that are probably more likely to resonate with women. But also hard to tell and it changed so much person to person. There are songs that are really catchy and fun and I like them even if the lyrics don’t appeal to me and it all just comes down to preference.

Personal taste, a smidge of nostalgia, and maybe something in the female vocals sings to your soul.

Not sure. Kinda similar to my grandma, she's opposite tho, she prefer song sings by a men more LoL. I remembered one time a played a folk song by a female singer and she immidiatly said her voice ruined the song, should be a man voice.

I'm male & generally my mix is about 50/50 but in the past few years with all the shit coming out I think I unconsciously slid off towards a 90/10 female ratio. My brother noticed it a few weeks ago & pointed it out.

I'm female and I listen to almost all male artists. It's probably a genre thing (prog rock is my drug of choice), and there are definitely female artists I admire and love / will listen to, but I think it's just preference.

Female artists tend to write songs that females can relate to more than male artists. However, men have written alot of great songs they can also relate too.

There's less bullshit with female singers. That makes them more believable and relatable.
