Been around here on this sub for some time. What is everyone’s opinion on Lana del Rey’s music (not on her, her music)?

I like her but I’m seeing so many different tastes in music and I’m interested in hearing the opinions

So, as a good Lana fan, after good listening to all albums, I like both Born to Die and Norman F Rockwell albums in a whole.

Lana is good at telling stories, but I can understand that she will never be everyone's cup of tea. That's it, basically.

She is my favorite female artist of all time! Not for vocal quality, but for the music as a whole. I saw her live once. Her first 5 albums were absolutely amazing (6 if you count her debut which didn't have any singles and didn't even chart).

What gets me is the melodies and how beautiful the music sounds with her voice. Whoever she has as musicians are so good. Some of her songs I even listen to the instrumental versions because you can better hear some of the subtle instrumentation.

She will always be in my top 5 favorite musical acts of all time!

Her Dark Pop has been very influential. Without her there would be no Lorde, no Billie Eilish, etc...

I loved her first album, and Ultraviolence, but lost interest after that - some songs are more memorable than others and others just okay for me. Love her smooth tones and range, she’s got a beautiful voice!

I like her music a lot, with the exception being Chemtrails Over the Country Club. Wasn't a fan of that one.

That album is like fight club, we don't talk about it LOL Not worth the breath. This is the reason I haven't been excited to listen to her latest one. I can't imagine it going back to the old sound again. I could be wrong though. I'll have to listen to it eventually, i can't not, lol

I like her when I don't expect her.

I wouldn't choose to listen to her but if a friend puts her on or shuffle playlist it's actual GOLD.

It's a style of pop music that's nostalgic, whimsical, sort of hippyish, dreamy, floaty and at the same time can be quite interesting to those who normally venture more towards singer songwriter style musicians.

I'm quite hit and miss with her stuff. God Knows I Tried is my favourite song by her. Cola also really appeals to me. There's a music video channel on YouTube called Lana del Radio that got me into some of her stuff.

A lot of her songs I find ignorable and just not quite my thing, but quite a few stir me up. She's interesting artistically compared to more overplayed artists. The songs have depth that your typical Kelly Clarkson and Taylor Swift songs don't have or maybe I'm just biased.

She sort of straddles that middle ground between Chelsea Wolfe and Kate Bush, with a lot of appeal to Florence And The Machine fans. She's a bit of something old and a bit of something new. Kinda timeless in a way.

I completely understand why she's popular. Some might say like Fine China.
