So I was thinking you know the old pop and hiphop songs? I think we should go back to them. like instead of making music like Doja Cat with the same tune making it back like the 50 Cent, Eminem, Tupac era. I hate the new music and as a Gen Z I love the older songs like early 2010s, 00s, 90s, some 80s and even a few 70s songs. bring back the old stuff it is much better!

Don’t know why people wouldn’t just explore outside of mainstream music instead of whining about it tbh

You don't even need to look outside the mainstream honestly, there's plenty of good stuff even if you restrict yourself to what's popular.

Most people who complain about music not being as good as it was in their day didn't even listen to the best groups of their time.

Late Xer here... The thing to remember is that nobody keeps the bad songs in radio play, so by the time a new generation comes along, it seems like the previous few generations were only making good music. I promise, there's a lot of bad music from any generation, and a lot of good music in yours.

There's never been a better time to be a music fan than right now. So much good stuff if you just look. I can't go on Bandcamp without my bank account weeping. /ElderMillenial

What era are you talking about? Pac had been dead for years before 50 released his first album. Pretty sure Pac had some crossover with Vanilla Ice though, we can bring him back.

There's always going to be good and bad music. And how many Doja Cat songs have you actually heard, because I'm pretty sure they're not all the same melody.

I swear ive read OPs post before and it ended the same way, with them just listing random bands from "earlier" and complaining about music now.

Its either an edgy teen or a boomer trying to be hip but pissed no one likes their jnco jeans.

I forgave my heroes for getting old. And realized they were carrying the torch of their heroes. And guess what, we can pick that torch up now too and run with it. ...be the freak you wanna see.

I actually prefer the Doja Cat, Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Khalid era over 50 Cent, Katy Perry, Eminem

The newer stuff seems to be slightly more influence by indie music for whatever that’s worth

Get off my lawn with your new-fangled music, you rascally whippersnappers! Everything new sucks! Everything old was amazing and has only gotten better with time!

OK everyone calm the fuck down! there is no need to be utter dicks about this. I just wanted to see if anyone else agreed with me, not get fucking verbally abused. there is no need to be rude. like many parents have told there sons and daughters 'don't say anything if you don't have anything nice to say' so please think next time before you make a comment. I fully respect people's opinions if there aren't being dicks to me but I don't have time for people who are just insulting me.

Literally nobody has "verbally abused" you. At most they've poked mild fun at you. Kind of seems like you were just expecting more people to agree with you.
