I’d like to listen to one album a week in 2023. I have had a quick look and I can’t find a definitive list of must listen-tos.

Has anyone got any suggestions? I am open to both old and contemporary music, from pretty much any genre.

I’d like to listen to well known classics, and some lesser known stuff as well.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Different Class is such a great album. Mile End, Common People, Something Changed, Disco 2000 are favorites and there’s not a bad song on the album.

I discovered Pulp through the Trainspotting soundtrack.

Go down this list (but put a maximum of one album per artist on your list):

OP, this is the best suggestion imo. You can further specify categories I believe, but this is the best list of all time ranked albums I have seen. Go down the list and you can obviously skip ones you have already heard.

Well yeah, that's the thing about tastes. Everyone's are different.

It's not hard to find lists of favorite artists. Why not do a little research, discover which ones you like?

For instance, everyone would tell you Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation is the one to listen to. But I'd tell you Sister, or The Eternal.

There is no definitive list. It's subjective. Find your own way.

Bad Blood - Bastille (alternative)

ATTENTION ATTENTION - Shinedown (rock)

Carry On - The Score (alternative / rock-ish)

Surrender - RÜFÜS DU SOL (alternative / electronic)

I highly recommend Trench. The production is great and it somewhat tells a story (along with other albums by the band). The song Neon Gravestones is particularly meaningful.
