The artists could stop it but they won’t because they rely almost entirely on concert revenue for their income. Streaming music services have destroyed the revenue from album sales. Since they don’t make hardly anything from recording they don’t want to take any chances with not selling out there shows. So they allow TM to basically dump everything to the secondary market even though it means a far smaller set of their fans may ever be able to see them live. That’s what we call “progress”.
