Dude, get the Bandcamp app and pick a genre, listen to the front page, or the radio shows. It'll never get old. From Bandcamp's newer stuff, really into Stella.

Also, Frances the Mute or anything Mars Volta, and wildcard pick: Alpha Mist.

Jazz:

I really like Promises by Pharoah Sanders with Floating Points and the LSO. Absolute cracker of an album.

Kamasi Washington - The Epic

Miles Davis - Sketches of Spain

Punk/Metal:

anything Mike Patton’s on at the moment is great - he’s on a thrash crossover tip. Particularly the Dead Cross II record, but also The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny Demos by Mr Bungle.

And, if you feel so inclined, give my punk band’s “amazing” debut a spin. Sex Dad’s Greatest Hits.

We’re… er… in development…

Old stuff:

Lift to Experience - The Texas/Jerusalem Crossroads. I always recommend this as I think it’s a criminally underrated masterpiece. 20 years old now.

Uncategorisable:

Black Midi are basically the new Captain Beefheart and Hellfire is just incredible.

King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Prolific, Eclectic, Multigenric, Amazingness. 23 albums in 12yrs. So you won't get bored.

My favorite is Polygondwanaland

But maybe start with Omnium Gatherum to get an idea of their eclecticness.

Then check out https://get-into-gizz.com/ to help you down the rabbit hole.

A favourite album? What's that? My "best" changes from day to day, sometimes even hour to hour, depending on my mood. (Currently listening to "Meeting with a Friend", by Ara Malikian, bought for the Concerto Grosso for String Orchestra by Palladio.)

I love a lot of "classical" music (the over-encompassing genre, not only the strictly defined "classical era"), but my tastes really go everywhere. "Riding a Black Unicorn" by Aurelio Voltaire. I have almost all Abney Park albums, and I love Max Raabe und der Palaz Orchester. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is good to listen to while doing chores, it makes them more bearable. The Cog is Dead (that's the band name) is full of fun steampunk fantasies. La Compagnie Créole for simple fun songs. Jean-Jacques Goldman for more thought-out songs. And his collaboration with Carole Fredericks and Michael Jones, under the name Fredericks, Goldman Jones, have some great gems. But I also have some Evanescence, I and do need to stock up on Muse... (Oh, and I love Yoko Kanno's pieces, too. Being a fan of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, I *had* to buy the OST.)
