There's a version of "O Come All Ye Faithful" done by a folk musician named Kevin Connolly in the mid 1990's for an album called "Snow Angels". The music is nothing like what you might have heard in church. It isn't really Alt, it's just super cool.

You can likely find it if you use a file sharing service. It isn't on youtube.
