If I downloaded a song off of SoundCloud using external tools when the song isn't directly downloadable from SoundCloud, can I still use the Creative Commons license for that song?

They did in fact declare it, yet there is no way to get the files directly from SoundCloud other than by either recording it off of the website or by using an external downloader.

And you can’t buy the song somewhere? It seems like you probably don’t have to overthink it or stress out about it

It appears that their tracks are only available on SoundCloud.

If you’re planning to use it commercially, I would message them and ask. If it’s just a personal project or something internal, maybe don’t worry about it.

My use would have to be non-commercial (for other reasons), but yeah, I think I’ll message them just for the future.

Does the song have a Creative Commons License? They don’t by default, that’s something the artist and all writers would have to declare. And if they did declare it, I would imagine there would be a legal way to obtain the files. But no technically, you can’t illegally download something and use it regardless.
