i have a weird symptom, any music i'm unfamilliar to irritates me, makes me feel uncomfortable, no matter what genre or artist. so i end up listening to the same songs over and over again

how do i fix this? i've tried checking out new(as in ones i've never heard before) albums of different eras and genres, every day, for a few months, hoping it would widen my tastes, but none of them clicks with me

apologies for bad english

I find new artists by letting my Spotify play into the, “you may also like” section after listening to a familiar album.
I’m guessing most streaming platforms have a setting like this.

The best thing to do is to let it play in the background while you’re doing something else and not focus on it.

I'd say try and focus your listening and try bridging the gap to new things by grounding it in styles and bands you already listen to. Honestly if you're a picky listener it's probably just going to take a while to find new stuff and you may just not be in the right frame of mind or mood to listen to new stuff. You may want to listen to new stuff but you're still not in the right mood and that can just ruin your experience so just wait until you're in the mood to try new things and then listen to it in a new headspace and see where you go on your adventure.

Maybe you listen to your favorite artists features. Like if they have a song that features a different artists listen to that artists music- then if your favorite artists are featured in someone else’s song, then listen to their music. Does that make sense 😭

What music do you currently gravitate to that doesn't irritate you? While I don't like all music I just try to listen to something that sounds believable and not manufactured

Try listening to the stuff really close to what you like then the stuff close to that, and because even in the same genre people have different influences you can find your self somewhere completely different from where you started.
