Trying to compose an angry guitar song, probably in an alt rock or rock sort of genre. I’m struggling to come up with angry-sounding chord progressions. Does anyone have any ideas?

Angry is fairly easy. Just short fast power chords.
Ramones? Dead Kennedy's? Pantera? Misfits?
Usually a lower tuning like drop C will naturally make everything sound angrier, moodier, and more aggressive.

Try listening to the Tragically Hip. Nautical Disaster or Locked in the Trunk of the Car show it is more about the build-up and dragging out than the chords themselves.

Upvote for the angry intent.Totally get what you're going for
I always find that uh adding dissonance has more of an angry effect than using a particular chord progression but yeah try out like something pentatonic and throwing in an off key note over the top o’ whatever chord
F5 - G5 - A5 - G5 (repeat)
Check out ‘Turbulent’ by Waterparks, that’s incredibly angry. Especially the outro where it just explodes
Check out Ministry.
And Mr. Bungle
Take a normal "happy" sounding progression and drop one of the chords by a half-step

Copy the progression from a song you like, change a chord or two.
It's not where you get it from, it's where you take it to!
