Hello everyone. I’m a huge fan of Ice Nine Kills and love their horror movie/book theme in their last 3 albums. I also enjoy Shadow of Intent (which is a Deathcore band) and their Halo theme. A theme which is also present in Escape The Fate’s The Guillotine songs. Are there any other themed bands (or songs) out there that I should be aware of?

Amon Amarth is some excellent Viking metal.

Alestorm is entertaining pirate metal.

Valient Thorr has a shtick where they claim to be sent from Venus (although musically, I grew to like them less the more I listened to them).

Okilly Dokilly was a Ned Flanders themed metal band (although again, I'm not particularly recommending them, as I really didn't care for the one song of theirs I heard).

Austrian Death Machine was a side project of the frontman of As I Lay Dying (the one who served time in prison and has since been released) based entirely on Arnold Schwarzenegger movie quotes

I'm sure there are a ton of others I'm not thinking of off the top of my head, but these are the first ones that jump to mind.

I’ve heard of 3 of these bands but never listened to them. I’ll check them out.

CrazyEightyEight is a post hardcore band made by Lauren Babic, Jarrod Alone, and Party Walters. Their whole theme is every song is a super on the nose reference to a movie.

Coheed and Cambria and Claudio's side project The Prize Fighter Inferno are almost entirely one cohesive story save, C&C's album The Color Before The Sun.

Check out Peelander-z. They're sort of like if mighty Morphin power rangers formed a punk band and went on tour everywhere they fought a monster.

It doesn't look like they've toured since 2019 and their website hasn't been updated with news in a while so they might be done. Seeing them live was a highlight and probably will never be matched, but you can still enjoy finding them.

Horrorpops put out goth rockabilly.

There is a one-off album of Elvis songs done in the style of Trent Reznor called Nine Inch Elvis.

Then there's Nerdcore, which is nerds who rap. MC Frontalot, Mega Ran, MC Hawking (they used the same text to speech engine that Dr Hawking used, he was apparently amused by them), Baba Binkman, MC Lars are all examples with different interests.
