I think its a big W for him to release record like this with such versatility and the production is just Top Tier. Feels like a Pop/Jazz inspired album and he was probably aiming for mainstream, the vocals and rhythms hit hard. The various use of instruments on the first song, the black seminole., is very different and wonderful just transports you to another world.

Yes the instrumentals are top tier, but I have the same problem I’ve always had with Lil Yachty. I just don’t understand why his lyrics and voice are appealing in the slightest. And I have a problem judging the album for its instrumentals when it’s a Lil Yachty album and I know he probably didn’t play even one of those instruments. Even if he did, we all know it wasn’t the cello.

ya his voice is basically numbed by the instrumentals all the time but man this is a complete transformation in yatchy's instrumentals

But I feel like his voice is also an instrument which adds another layer onto the song and is not overpowering, the humming and everything. Just a beautiful vibe added to the song

Why does it matter that he didn't play any instruments? There are tons of singers that don't. I know his voice is different but I actually like it because of how unique it is. I see that as the biggest complaint of the album on reddit, but I don't think it's bad at all.

The first track is a not so subtle interpolation of Pink Floyd’s dark side of the moon. That said, it’s not bad.

I don’t normally listen to Lil Yatchy like that but this album was dope. A great mix of Psychedelic Rock, R&B, and Jazz. The Black Seminole was definitely a call back to Pink Floyd’s style and Drive Me Crazy had similar smooth soul vibes to Rock With You by Michael Jackson. Definitely a great 2023 release.
