I'm thinking about starting but I'm in a really small space with my gf and her sisters so there's not much privacy for me to really explore my mind and what I want to put out

Get an acoustic instrument like guitar or bass and just play quietly or If you want to play drums, get an electric drum kit, they are small, and you just play with headphones in.

I Def would work with guitar or a piano but first I think I want to start of with vocals

That's a very good point, due to severe lack of space at my house tho ill have to postpone that till I find another place around may-june with enough space to compensate
