Looking back I like Paramore, not sure if they’re pop-punk, but I guess it fits the bill.

Straight up punk, I’d say At The Drive In (Relationship of Command) is probably the best punk rock album I’ve ever heard.

1. I love the general sound of it. Super catchy!
2. Fall Out Boy, Three Days Grace, My Chemical Romance, and Green Day (do they count?)
3. Hmm, Welcome to The Black Parade, Never Too Late, Sugar we’re goin down, Dance Dance and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

At no worries! If you did add 90s, blink-182 and Sum 41 would be great additions too! 90s and 2000s pop punk is my favorite genres lol.

I liked some pop-punk growing up but I grew out of it. Hardcore and post-hardcore is where it's at.

i don’t like simple plan either, their lyrics and vocals aren’t appealing. i do listen to paramore, though, in addition to the ones you mentioned liking.

Everyone can listen to what they want but I don’t like it personally. Punk became a thing because people wanted something different from the same old rock and roll songs and pop punk decided to go in the other direction and made it easier to listen to.

my music taste definitely hasn’t fully evolved yet as i’m still a teenager so im curious as to what i’ll think of my current taste when i’m an adult. ig i like it because it’s upbeat while still having dark and personal themes.

I still like some songs from when I was younger because of nostalgia. And hell yeah man, if you like it, it doesn’t matter if other people don’t

Sum 41 really came into their own with my favs being All to Blame & Hell Song. At the same time billy talent was also making really great tunes including The Ex, Try Honesty and River Below. Not exactly sure if they fall into the pop punk category but in early 2000s Canada they went hand in hand. American Idiot had some really great stuff Jesus of suburbia is a masterpiece

1999-2002 were the golden years of pop-punk with bands like Saves the Day, blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory, and The Starting Line (highly underrated pop-punk band).

After 2003 it became more sterile and manufactured with bands like Yellowcard, Fall Out Boy, Cartel, Boys Like Girls, Paramore, and the All-American Rejects.

Drive-Thru Records and Fueled by Ramen were the two big pop-punk labels at the time but most commercial pop-punk bands had major label deals by 2005. The genre died quickly by 2008.

Descendants are basically peak pop-punk. Pop punk wasn't only stuff you heard on the radio.
