Hope this actually gets built! Based on the renders as of right now, this building looks sharp.
Given both its current design and huge size relative to the other nearby buildings downtown between both parks, this building could be a real focal point for attention for the city and be a standout/iconic landmark - in a literal sense) for Newark (i.e. exterior shots of Newark on Devils games focus on this tower, use it in stock photos of the city.

Add NJPAC new towers and Newark will have an amazing entrance from 21

I’m eager to get everyone’s take on whether this will come to fruition, given the mixed best track record at best of grand projects coming to fruition. Thoughts everyone? Yes, no, maybe?

Definitely going to happen, Calvin is not the type of attorney who will help a developer get a project approved and then sell the land for higher profit. He told me about Vibe tower being fake and that someone else is about to build something there, the Westinghouse and 900 broad. As for the developer Calvin did say that the city supports the project and that the developer family will be paying for the construction I believe so no tax abatement. I imagine the tower only being over 100 million sense halo 3 is 90 million

That’s good to know. Excited about the prospect. Thank you for sharing.

The render view from the river also stars the completed Halo Towers.

Halo towers being in the background was amazing, really gives the sense on what the skyline could look like minus CitiSquare and NJPAC development

Happy to see the city council stand up to the unelected historic commission. Time to disband these unconstitutional, elitist and wholly un-democratic bureaucracies and exclude them from wielding any sort of influence over public policy.

Uh…Being that Newark has a limited amount of history left. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have people trying to preserve what’s left of it where possible. Obviously this new building would help the city out a lot though.

Our active peeps here already gave us this news; so I'm just posting the article on it :)
EDIT: there's also a pretty good render of the building from the river that looks pretty dope
