I haven’t been to a hair salon in years but I really want to get a silk press. I have really thick type 4 hair and would prefer to stay away from and chemical relaxers/perms.

I go to ivoire hair braiding on MLK Ave for my braids. It’s a African spot and they cheap but I can’t say I seen anyone get a silk press there. I just know they do a good job for the price.

Kolby’s in Bloomfield is where my girl goes. She hasn’t had her hair pressed in years but said they can do it there.

If you're willing to go to Jersey City, Shardollz is the place. They understand how to treat natural hair how it should, and it has great atmosphere.

Curlective in Bloomfield is a great place. I also highly recommend my stylist Tahneea (has her own salon suite) in Clifton
