I never would have imagined in a million years that this building was going to see new life. I have photos of the inside on my blog from when it was still abandoned and you can see what horrible shape it was in.

Wished this also could have happened to that other mansion further down on Clinton Ave that caught on fire.

Yeah, that's the Kastner mansion. It was designed by the same architect the same year he was designing the Krueger mansion! It actually has several identical features inside, including that fantastic staircase.

I wish I knew how to work Wikipedia. Pictures of the rundown mansion are all over the Newark page. I'd replace them with the renovated and landscaped version.

I know a certain butterfly themed supervillain who is looking to rent. I'll pass it on.

My grandparents left after the riots in 71. I can still hear them talk about the mansions on High Street! Having worked on and off in Newark since the 1980s it nice to see that structure refurbished. There's so many beautiful buildings hopefully more can be saved.
