There are tons of parts of NYC that have Newark rates. I know someone in a studio paying $1450 in Brooklyn. My ex lived in an apartment that was 3 bedrooms for $2900 in Manhattan.

Did you know Manhattan includes Harlem, Washington Heights etc?

Washington Heights or somewhere else in Northern Manhattan most likely. Manhattan goes up a LONG way...

Yup. People seem to think Manhattan ends at 96th for some reason.

Yeah the average sticker price takes into the crazy outliers prices in NYC. You can find cheaper apartments uptown or downtown manhattan.

It doesn't, but the commute to midtown and definitely downtown faster from the ironbound than from above 125th st. Depends where you are going though obv.
