Welp ladies and gentlemen fans of Newark development tomorrow are evening will differently determine if this project happens or not. It should because if they can approve halo, and 900 broad street to glassy modern towers that don’t fit in their neighborhoods and would cast a large shadow got approved while one is actually under construction. I really hope this thing gets approved tomorrow night, I don’t have a problem with the facade looking similar to one theater square or the two Shaq towers to fit the area better as long as it stays 45 stories I am happy. The sky’s the limit it’s time for Newark to dream big. Makes no sense jersey city is approving towers taller than this left and right while we fall behind. Fingers crossed see y’all tomorrow

The issues tomorrow will be the demolition of the existing buildings and the design of the new ones. If you support this tower and want to speak publicly, it is important to note the existing buildings are not worth saving and the new one complements the other historic buildings in the district and doesn’t detract from them. Similar situation to the newest glass Prudential tower on Broad. Decrepit out of use buildings replaced by a tower that brings life to the neighborhood.

Interested in what people here think about how this commission nitpicks every little thing for historic homes. It’s like an HOA from hell.
