This happened to me three times when I was at ShopRite. A lady came up to me asking if she can pay for my groceries using her EBT, but I would just have to pay for her diapers. I obviously said no, but they were asking a lot of people who were grocery shopping. I wanted to know what the scheme is because it’s too good to be true and makes no sense.

EBT is SNAP benefits from the government for food. They can’t buy diapers with the EBT card. Sounds like she didn’t have cash for the diapers, but could spare the amount on the card to buy your groceries.

No scam she just needed diapers. SNAP benefits do not cover toilet paper, or any paper products including diapers, feminine products. It’s nice of you to say you would have bought them without the card so make sure you offer next time. 😊
