For the record, they won't release the car until it's registered. You have to go to 22 Franklin St to get a release form and they won't give you the release form unless your paperwork is up to date.

I live on Edison Place which they close off routinely for events. Technically, there's no parking on the street as the signage clearly indicates but people do it all the time . They only seem to tow if the road is being closed off. The police are cool enough to turn on their siren and lights for a good 15 minutes before tow trucks arrive... see people scrambling out of the bars and stuff to move their cars.

I don’t think tow truck can hook your car if there’s someone in the car. A while back I also had to run in a store and parked. When I got back, the tow truck was lifting my car but he never realized my girl (5’1” 110lbs) was in the passenger seat (tinted windows)… she was sleeping and didn’t realize car was about to get towed 😂 I told him she was in there, he checked and got furious… he said I was fucking lucky and said he would be looking for my car in the future. I told him I don’t even live here so go ahead. So, I’m thinking they can’t.

I am sorry for the huge expense, but not all that sorry to see the city taking illegal parking seriously. People park in places that make it dangerous for you to cross the street, they park in bus stops which fucks up traffic for everyone, and they double park or park in traffic lanes or on the sidewalk or whatever. This city has way too much car bullshit already.
