Thank you for all that you gave the world, George.

One of my daughters shares his birthday. The other shares his name.

Each Beatle has had a turn as my favorite. George probably had the longest tenure when I was first learning to play guitar.

My favorite Beatle. You can see his progress as a songwriter in real time. From "Don't Bother Me" on With The Beatles, to I Need You, You Like Me Too Much, Think For Yourself, If I Needed Someone, and then to Something and Here Comes the Sun. Not to mention All Things Must Pass and his solo career. At first, he felt like he couldn't compete with Paul and John. But he's an example of how anybody can see progress if they stick to something.

Didn't he help fund Monty Python and The Holy Grail because he wanted to see it?

(Edit: it was Life of Brian, thanks for the info)
