Tube socks would've been great for when your foot slips off the pedal and your shin gets torn off lol

Not with the metal "shin shark" pedals!! Those things would eat right thru those socks like a hot knife thru butter!

That makes sense lol. I am a bit younger but I'm pretty sure there's some faint memories in my mind of bloody socks while riding bikes in the 90s.
Some protection but not near enough
