Ahh the colors of Kodachrome...Such an amazing film. Too bad it's not produced anymore.

This was from the time before the law which required all paper grocery bags to have a baguette sticking out the top.

"So, you're saying that I could sell Tupperware in my free time to make a little extra money? I don't even have to leave my neighborhood if I don't want to? This sounds too good to be true. What is a 'Tupperware party' anyway? I like the idea of helping my friends make money, God knows everyone could use a little extra cash these days, but I don't understand how me helping them helps me even more. You're just going to have to explain this one more time before I decide."

Cellophane, the world's first transparent packaging film, was invented in 1908 by the Swiss engineer Jacques Brandenberger.

Glorious picture and the colors are just mind blowing. She has a bit of both Katherine Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor going on. Thanks 😎

If I’m not mistaken, she just ate a lychee, among the world’s most delicious tropical fruits, and probably very hard to get in New York.
No wonder she’s looking off camera with that “What miraculous thing did I just eat?” expression on her face.
i-pity-da-fool t1_j9wk5o2 wrote
That’s definitely not a lychee. Most likely a strawberry.
Sir-Viette t1_j9wky2n wrote
Hmmm ... maybe you're right.
On the one hand, the outside isn't the bright red of a strawberry, and looks to me more like to reddish brown of a lychee. But on the other hand, that could be down to the colour limitations of the photographic film. Also, strawberries would be much more likely to show up in a New York fruit shop in the 1940s than a lychee.
