Is it a 5.0 or a Turbo? Both were available that year.

Was a turbo available on the GT? I think the turbos were in the 4 or 6 cyl or am I wrong? That's a GT there.

The turbo Mustangs of that era were 2.3L fours, and the GT could be had with that engine at the time as well as the 5.0. I knew someone who had a GT Turbo back in the day.

And of course there was also the SVO from '84 to '86, but this is definitely not one of those.

šŸ‘šŸ» I didn't know there was an option to put a 2.3 turbo in a GT. Still learning at 46....

I remember those special vehicle operations cars my neighbor had a black one I used to love the way that ram Air hood looked but they were not v8s so it wasn't THAT cool lol.

Probably the biggest strike against the SVO at the time was that it was THE most expensive Mustang you could buy at the time, and it wasn't any quicker in a straight line than a GT. Especially not after the 5.0L was bumped up over 200 hp in '86.

Yes weā€™ll sorta they called it the gt turbo, it was 2.3 turbo charged 4 cylinder. The svo came the same year in 1984.

I think I do remember those turbo gt's. The decals. I mean I definitely remember the trans am turbo (which turned out to be the fastest production TA of all time, the 89 turbo). Turbo was all the rage in the mid to late 80s

Whatever happened to the natural evolution of denim jeans from new blue to holy fray to fringy shorts?

Also. Mine was maroon with flat black trim. Loved that car, looking back it was miracle I didnā€™t kill my self. Back end would cut loose in a heartbeat. Could roast Irocs in a straight line, but got nailed in the corners.

Thatā€™s actually really cool. People were more chill about everything. Before we became indoctrinated how dangerous everything was, that we enjoyed. Smoking, soda, lots of fast food, seatbelts, kids roaming the streets playing, riding in the back of pickups, sun exposure, sex, helmet-free motorcycles, red meat, etcā€¦

Iā€™m making shorts like that this summer for sure.

This was taken after my parents divorced. I see a guy living his best life. I now fully understand why dad had so many "girlfriends"
